A Legacy Reborn - Land Rich in Culture and History

The Land Story
Long ago, in the moss-draped forests of Stave Falls, where towering evergreens guard the sky and the call of eagles echoes overhead. A quiet tale of heart, heritage, and hope began to unfold.
It was 1908 when the Crown, recognizing the strength and spirit of a young Finnish community, granted a magnificent 160-acre stretch of wild, untamed land to the Nikula family, settlers in search of a better life.
This special land, cradled by creeks and shadowed by ancient cedar, was lovingly divided into three equal parts: 53⅓ acres each, gifted to siblings Kusty, Jalo, and Anni. Kusty, the builder; Jalo, the dreamer; and Anni, the heart. Each shaped their share of the forest into something deeply personal, tied not by fences, but by love and legacy.
Not far from their land ran the Railway Belt, a lifeline of the era. Logs from nearby forests, including those cut by Kusty’s hand, were hauled by mule and sent down the tracks to Ruskin, fueling the growth of a young province while the Nikula homestead remained a sanctuary of peace and purpose.
To this day, echoes of their laughter linger in the trees. The scent of fresh rain, woodsmoke, and hand-churned butter still clings to the soil. And now, as the forest stirs once more, a new story is ready to be written, one rooted in the same spirit that brought the Nikula siblings to this enchanted place over a century ago.
The legacy continues..
